Chadron State Park (Dawes) 973 acres

Located within Nebraska National Forest, nine miles south of Chadron, Nebraska, in the northwestern portion of the state. The park includes a portion of the Pine Ridge escarpment and Chadron Creek. It is wooded with ponderosa pine throughout and cottonwood trees near the creek and lagoon.

Eugene T. Mahoney State Park (Cass) 690 acres

Located on the Platte River, off Interstate 80, approximately four miles east of Ashland, Nebraska. The park features lodging and conferencing facilities, an aquatic center, marina, multi-purpose trails, the Kountze Memorial Theater, multiple facilities for event rentals, and a 70-foot observation tower overlooking the Platte River Valley.

Fort Robinson State Park (Dawes & Sioux) 22,673 acres

A former U.S. Army fort and now a major feature of Fort Robinson State Park and historic preservation area located 2 miles west of Crawford on U.S. Route 20 in the Pine Ridge region of northwest Nebraska. The fort was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1960 and is part of the Fort Robinson and Red Cloud Agency historic district. This includes Fort Robinson and the site of the second Red Cloud Agency (about 1.5 miles to the east). The district also includes the Camp Camby site and the 1886 Percy Homestead.

Indian Cave State Park (Nemaha & Richardson) 3,052 acres

Borders the Missouri River in Nebraska that preserves a cave with prehistoric petroglyphs and the partially reconstructed village of St. Deroin established in 1853 and part of the former Nemaha Half-Breed Reservation.

Niobrara State Park (Knox) 1,640 acres

Located at the confluence of the Missouri and Niobrara rivers in the northeast corner of Nebraska.The state park occupies 1,640 acres of bluffs to the west of the village of Niobrara.

Platte River State Park (Cass) 519 acres

Located on the southern bluffs of the Platte River two miles  west of Louisville, Nebraska. The state park has a relatively steep, rolling topography compared to the surrounding region.

Ponca State Park (Dixon) 2,400 acres

Located on the banks of the Missouri River four miles north of Ponca, Nebraska, in the northeastern corner of the state. The state park is situated among high bluffs and steep, forested hills adjacent to the Missouri National Recreational River.

Smith Falls State Park (Cherry) 252 acre

Smith Falls, at 63 feet is the highest waterfall in the state of Nebraska and the centerpiece of Smith Falls State Park. The state park and falls are located 12 miles east-north east of Valentine and 3 miles south west of Sparks, on the south side of the Niobrara River.
